Eternal Gratitude: A Mother’s Legacy:  When my mother passed away suddenly, it felt like a part of me died too. The pain of her absence is a constant ache in my heart. However, knowing she is now in heaven gives me comfort that a part of me will live on forever. I miss her so much! Nevertheless, every day, I focus on all the beautiful memories we made together and all the things she taught me so profoundly — that it doesn’t hurt so significantly when I think of her now. Her passing has taught me resilience and the power of cherishing memories, inspiring me to live each day to the fullest.

My mum was my world. She was a beacon of light, always radiating warmth and love. Her influence profoundly shaped my daily life and the person I am today. She taught me the most important life lessons. She showed me how to be kind and caring — not just with others but with myself. I remember how she always put others’ needs before hers and comforted me when I felt down; her comforting presence was a constant in my life. She taught me that no matter what happens along the way in life, there are always things we can do to make ourselves happy. Her lessons on kindness, self-care, and resilience are the guiding principles of my life.

When I reflect on our time together, two things stand out: how much we loved adventuring in Snowdonia, Wales, and our daily chats about everything under the sun (oh and playing Scrabble!). No matter where I go from here, these memories will always remind me of her love for life and family. Her passion and joy for life and her love for family always brought warmth and joy to those around her. This legacy continues to inspire and bring hope to others.

Thank you, Mum, for everything you’ve done for me and our family. My gratitude towards you is immeasurable. Your presence in my life has been a blessing, and I am forever grateful for the love and guidance you’ve given me. I cannot thank you enough for the sacrifices you made for us. Words alone cannot sum up how much I miss you, but one thing for sure is I do! An old saying goes, “Carpe Diem,” Latin for “Seize the Day.” Something I truly recommend to all! My heart overflows with gratitude for the love and lessons you’ve given me, and I will always carry this gratitude with me.  Your loving Son, Michael x
